ENTERCOM needs to do some shuffeling on Bay Area Sports Team’s.

The excitement of a new season for the Oakland A’s may turn to confusion when fans look to tune into some early season action on “95.7 The Game” KGMZ San Francisco. Entercom has to play a game of shuffle to accommodate their new broadcast deal while also considering the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and NHL’s playoff-bound San Jose Sharks.

One of the reasons the Warriors switched broadcast homes from Cumulus sports KNBR (680) to “The Game” was that they didn’t like getting bumped by early-season San Francisco Giants games, according to AthleticNation.com. Now, with The Boys of Summer ramping up for opening day, Entercom will move A’s games to classic rock “98.5 K-Fox” KFOX San Jose when the Warriors are scheduled to play.

However, Sharks games air on “K-Fox” and they still have some regular season to play and look to be a cinch to clinch the playoffs, so when they play, the A’s will slide up the dial to Entercom urban AC “R&B 102.9” KBLX.

Three Bay Area sports teams with overlapping schedules and playoff opportunities could have A’s fans keeping a radio dial position scorecard into mid-June. The Warriors have already clinched a spot in the NBA playoffs, which could see them in postseason action as early as April 15. Game 7, if necessary, of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 18. The Sharks, should they make the playoffs, could hit the postseason ice as early as April 12 and the Stanley Cup usually gets passed around in mid-June. The A’s regular season begins Tues. Apr. 4.

Come this fall, if the A’s are making a playoff run, they will continue to be heard on “95.7 The Game,” as postseason baseball tends to bring in strong ratings, and the Warriors’ regular season does not begin until late-October.
